Internationally acclaimed photographer, Jackie Nickerson has been commissioned by Offaly County Council to document the county during 2015. Offaly Youth Theatre - Auditions forUpcoming Show

O.Y.T. Tullamore are hosting auditions for their upcoming show ‘Dead Famous’ in The Central Hotel on Thursday 5th February from 7-9 pm.  

If you know a young person aged between 13-21 who is itching to act in front of a live audience, now is their chance!

There is one final round of auditions. All budding actors out there are invited to come along to the Central Hotel, Tullamore. Call Maura on 089 4590138 for more info.

Following a successful pilot in 2014 in which writers Mary Russell, Iggy McGovern and Orfhlaith Foyle were the inaugural recipients, applications are now sought for the 2015 Writers' Residency/Retreat in Birr, Co. Offaly.
The opportunity is for professional writers who are seeking a short break from daily routines; it is for those who feel the need to re-invigorate themselves into completing current work; and it is also for writers who may simply need inspiration, through a change of place and stimuli. Edenderry, Birr & Tullamore

Professional Training for Theatre & Film

Offaly Youth Theatre is a not-for profit organisation funded by Offaly County Council that places the artistic wants and needs of its young members first.(Ages 14-20). All facilitators are third level trained and Garda Vetted. OYT offers a place for young people to communicate their own ideas, learn acting skills for film and theatre, use own voice, write their own scripts and perform it.  OYT has three branches Birr, Edenderry and Tullamore and is affiliated with NAYD (National Association for Youth Drama in Ireland) and that is what makes it a unique theatre opportunity in Offaly.  The main ethos behind ‘Youth Theatre’ that sets it apart is the value it places on young opinions and decision making. 

 Our Workshops are on....

Birr : Fri @ 7pm – St Brendan’s School (Facilitator: Macdara Deery)

Edenderry: Wed @ 7pm –Youth Café (Facilitator : Martina McCormack); 

Tullamore: Monday @ 7pm – Central Hotel (Facilitator : Angela Ryan).

Offaly County Council wish to commission three artists, each to work with a community group to reveal an identified ‘Secret of Offaly’

This is a multidisciplinary commission and applications are invited from professional visual artists, filmmakers, musicians, writers, theatre practitioners, dancers and more. Applicants can submit a proposal to work with one or more projects. Each project has a commission value of €10,000.
