Brown Bin Information
31st August 2010:
Under the Waste Bye-Laws, all householders in the designated areas - Tullamore, Mucklagh and Birr - are required to separate the organic fraction of their waste. If you have a waste collector, a brown bin will be delivered to your door shortly. If you do not use a waste collector and bring your waste to Derryclure landfill instead, there will be brown bins available for your organic waste at the landfill

Hedgerows are an important habitat for a range of wildlife, including birds, insects and wildflowers, providing an important part of our landscape.
Under section 40 of the Wildlife Act 1976, incorporating section 46 of the Wildlife (Amendment) Act 2000, the times for hedge and verge cutting are set out. In summary, this means that if cutting of hedges and verges is planned, this should be carried out by the end of February and no further cutting should take place until the start of September.
