Pay-by-weight at Derryclure Waste & Recycling Facility from 3rd October 2011
For all customers who avail of the waste facility at Derryclure, from 3rd October 2011, a pay-by-weight system will be in place for all waste entering the site. All vehicles will be weighed entering and exiting the site, and a charge calculated based on the weight of waste deposited. All credit/debit cards and cash will be accepted for payment. Landfill tickets will no longer be sold at the usual outlets, however all tickets in circulation will be honoured. The following are the bands that will apply to most customers:

51kg< net weight < 70kg - €12.30 plus 13.5% vat
71kg< net weight < 90 kg - €16.40 plus13.5% vat
91kg< net weight <110kg - €20.50 plus 13.5% vat
Net weight> 110 kg - €4.10 per 20kg increment plus 13.5% vat
This charge is €205.00 per tonne. A minimum charge of €8.20 plus VAT for 0-50kgs.
Green waste will continue to be accepted at the site at the current rate of €145 incl VAT.
Offaly County Council will continue to accept domestic and commercial waste at Derryclure Waste & Recycling Facility. While the landfilling activity will cease on the site in the coming weeks, the Council will continue to provide the same level of service for the people and businesses of Co. Offaly. This includes the Recycling Centre and also the designated area for General/Food/C&D Waste, as is currently the case on the site, with the weighbridge continuing to operate as normal. The facility at Derryclure will continue to provide a one-stop-shop, accepting general waste, food and garden waste, and a very wide range of recyclables – Please visit our website www.offaly.ie to view all the waste streams that can be recycled at the site.
