Artist Geraldine O'Reilly is looking for photographic material relating to the Grand Canal.
She has been commissioned by Offaly County Council to create a series of artworks that explore the Grand Canal and she wants to include the experience of local people in the project.
Perhaps you had a family member who worked on the canal or you grew up alongside the canal. Do you have one or two photographs in the family album that shows something or someone or an activity that relates to the Grand Canal?
For convenience and safety the Artist has arranged with the Library service that photos can be dropped into any of the Offaly libraries where the artist will scan them into her computer. All the photographs will be held in the library and available for collection as soon as they’re scanned.
