Ross Hathaway is a metal artist. He works with mild steel, copper and stainless steel and his work ranges from large scale public sculptures to smaller pieces of jewellery.
He loves the weird and wonderful things he can get metals to do: the varying textures that can be applied, the colours in copper, and the clean lines of stainless steel. Because he is experienced with metal he is confident in working with it – he is prepared to do things that other people wouldn’t attempt.
His studio is close to Lough Boora Parklands in Co Offaly where he walks every morning. He believes that the landscape feeds into his work.
His pieces are being exhibited in Tullamore Library from Thursday 13th April until 30th April.
