FÁS, in partnership with the Offaly County Library Service, introduced the 'FÁS eLearning at the Library Project' to the Tullamore, Clara, Edenderry and Birr libraries in September 2009. This life long learning programme has been developed by FÁS for people with little or no IT skills as well as those with some basic IT skills. The programme has been very successful. We now have 107 participants on the programme.
We are now extending this initiative to our Libraries in Daingean, Kilcormac, Banagher and Ferbane.
Anyone over 18 - beginner, intermediate or advanced can avail of this initiative. Courses are open to learners with:
- Little or no IT skills (through workshops in the library delivered by a facilitator).
- Some IT skills, for learners who wish to learn on line but may need some assistance (also through workshops)
- Higher levels of IT skills for learners who can access online courseware remotely and email the facilitator for support if required.
