Oscar

This year St. Brendan’s started off the boys into books card. I wasn’t part of the library, but I still got stamps. My friend and I went to the library and still read books for the crack. It was great. My favourite book was Clyde Keeps His Cool; I like that book because it was really funny.Thanks to Pat, Martina, staff and Mr. Crofton for a fun 16 weeks.

Gytis

This year 6th class of St. Brendans boys school took park in the “Boys into Books” project in Birr library. The good thing was that we got out own 6th class section of books we like. I read 32 books. My favourite book was “Asterix and Obelix”. My favourite types of books are scary ones. We went to the library almost once a week. I will read books in the future. Thanks to Pat and Martina and staff for a friendly 16 weeks and for making a section for 6th class.

Gareth

This year I completed the Boys into books project. It was good because we got time off school and it was a nice relaxing break. I have read sixteen books.My favourite book was the cirque du freak. My favourite types of books are ones about adventure and nature. We all had at least 5 trips the library.

Stefan

This year we went to the library for a boy’s into books scheme. It was really good because we got to go over to the library around every two weeks. I read 16 books and it was hard to read them. My favourite books were where’s Wally because I like the books that are like that. My favourite types of books were comics or picture books especially horrible history. the trips to the library were really fun and it was good to get out of class. I’d like to read in the future. If I have time I will go a few times. Thanks to Martina and staff for making us feel welcome.

Mark

This year I took part in the Boy’s into Books project. We got a card with 16 circles in it every book you read you get a stamp. I got 16 so I filled the card. It was good crack because, we got to miss out an hour of school and we relaxed and read in the library. My favourite book that I read was Cristiano Ronaldo’s book and my favourite type was sport. We were always welcome and Martina and the staff were very friendly. So thanks to Martina and Birr library staff.

Daniel

This year I took part in a project called Boy’s into Books. Everyone in my class did it too. The aim of this project was to read 16 in 16 weeks. I read the 16 books so I was delighted. My favourite book was captain underpants as I only really like all the funny books. Nearly every 2nd week Mr. Crofton took us to the library so we got out of the school. Great!!!!!!!! I think I will keep reading books because I loved the walk down there. I would like to say thanks to Pat, Martina and staff and a special thanks to Mr. Crofton for taking time to bring us down to the library.

Niall

This year I took part in the Boys into Books project. I got 16 stamps for the books I read. My favourite book was them all. The best part was having a laugh in the kid’s area, the journeys were also fun. I would probably go back for some new books in the future. Thanks to Martina and Pat and library staff. I felt welcome and had fun.

Josh

This year I entered a project to read 16 books. I enjoyed it and it got me to read a lot I read 16 books altogether. My favourite book was called the wish fish, my favourite type of book is adventure. I liked going to the library because I got time off school and it was fun. I’ll probably go to the library more often now. It was a good project and I’d like to say thanks to the library staff.

This year 6th class from St. Brendans took part in a project called boys into books. We had to read 16 books in 16 weeks. I got my first stamp on the 20th of January, and I read 16 books altogether. My favourite types of books are funny ones.The trips to the library were fun and getting time off school was good as well. The project was fun because I read a lot of good books. Thanks to Martina, Pat and staff at birr library and for a friendly 16 weeks and making us feel welcome and also having fun.

Nemanja

This year out class did the boys into books project. We had to read 16 books in 16 weeks. It was fun and I like reading the books. At the end of this project I think I read 48 books. My favourite book was the Wizard of Oz. It was a fun and exciting book. My favourite types of books were comic books like Astrix and Tintin books. We had a good few trips to the library with our school. But I also went a lot of times alone. In the future I will still go to the library. We have a few more days left to read books. We walk together with out class through parks to go to the library and we stay there for 45 minutes. I also liked Pat, Martina and all the rest of the staff. They were kind to us and made us feel welcome.

Conor

This year we went to the Birr library to take part in the Boys into Books project.We had to read at least 16 books within 16-20 weeks. My favourite types of books were Horrible Histories and Horrible Sciences.To get to the library we walked through camcor park and up by the church. The best part was getting off school, It was great craic. Thanks to Martina, Pat and the staff for helping.

Craig

This year I am doing the Boys into Books Project. I liked it because we got out of school and read lots of books. I read 16 and I liked them all. Steven Gerrard’s book was the best. My favourite type of book it the sports book. When we went to the library we walked through the park and we got 30 minutes to look at the books. The odd time I would go down to the library. Thanks to Martina and staff for their help.

Cormac

It was good to get out and read and it encouraged us to read more. It was good to get off class and do something fun. We relaxed and read lots of books. We had a section of books that we wanted to read like comedy, action, horror and sport. I read over 20 books. My favourite book was Captain Underpants. My favourite types of books were comedy. We walked over from school to the library around 5 times and spent about 45-60 minutes each time. I will visit the library a good few times a year and take out some books. I enjoyed the project and would like to thank Martina and everyone who helped out.

Darragh

This year my class and I took part in a project to encourage young boys to read. I personally though that is was great idea to get young readers to read more books. We even had our own little section in the library which will hopefully be still there so I can go back and take out some more books from that section.  It was mighty crack and I managed to get 16 stamps (1 card). My favourite book was probably “Boys rule – water park”. I really enjoy reading the Boys rule books as they are very interesting. Our trips to the library were good exercise and mighty craic. I hope that in the future I can go to the library and get out books and that I don’t lose interest. I would love to thank Martina and Pat and staff for helping out and being so friendly.

Conor

This year we took part in the boys into books project. I thought it was a good idea to get boys reading. We got time off school to go to the library. We go through the park to get to the library. When we get there we go to the counter to check in our books. We look art some books and then we check them out and we go back to school. There might be a future for me reading more books.

Cian

This year 6th class from St. Brendans boys school took park in the Boys into books project in Birr Library. I got my first stamp on the 23rd January 2009 and I read 18 books altogether. A good part about it was getting off some school. The project lasted about 16 weeks. My favourite book that I rented out was “Horrible Histories: Slimy Stuarts” and my favourite type of book is comedy. We went to the library about 5 times and we got there by going through the park by the Camcor river. Thanks to Pat and Martina and staff for a friendly, welcome and fun time for 16 weeks.

I love every thing about Boys into Books. I read 16 books and I really liked the books. My favourite book was Jonny Wilkinson by Andy Croff. My favourite type of books was sport books. Trips to the library were good and I though that we were made feel very welcomed. Thanks to Martina, Pat, staff and birr library and thanks to Martina for being so friendly to us and welcoming us, I had a lot of fun coming to the library.

Jamie

I thought this project was really fun and really great to do. What I thought was good about it was that we got out of class and went down to read good books as well to relax. I read 16 books. My favourite book was Ghost stories of Ireland. My favourite types of books are Horror, non-fiction and knowledge. I’m still going to read lots of books. Martina, Pat and staff were really nice and made the library fun, welcome and friendly. So we would like to thank them all.

Kenneth

In February we started a project. You got a card with space for 16 stamps. I filled my one. We will have a reward ceremony on Friday the sixth of June. Olwyn Enright will be there to give us our certificates. I would like to thank Martina, Pat and staff for helping us reach our goal.

John

I think it was really good. It was good because you could get out of school for a while and chill out on a seat and read a book then you get a boys into books stamp. I read 28 books. The type I like is horror, sports and disaster. I don’t think I will be reading books in the community school but I will go back to the library. Thanks to Martina, Pat and staff for being so nice and welcoming us and being so friendly and made our trip to the library so fun.

My favourite type of book is funny books. I enjoyed the trips to the library very much because we had a bit of a laugh and we go to relax in the library! I think I’m still going to read books because I enjoyed the project a lot. Thanks to Martina, staff and the Birr Library. They were very friendly and welcoming.
