This Library has WiFi access. Available free to all regisisterd library users. Please ask a member of staff for details.

Follow this link for information on the Clara Bog Visitor Centre which is located at the same site as the Library.

The refurbished Clara Library was opened in September 2009.

The refurbishment allowed us to offer an enhanced service to library users. The library has a stock of over 10,000 items including books and a wide range of audio visual materials such as music CDs, DVDs, and audio books on CD. There are a total of 8 PCs for use by the public with 2 of these dedicated to children.

There is a dedicated children’s section and also a new teen space for teenage members to enjoy.

We have extended our opening hours to include lunchtime opening Tuesday to Friday and  tea time opening on a Thursday evening.


We wish to thank all library users for their continued patience during the refurbishment works and extend a warm welcome to everyone to come and use the revamped library.

Services include:

  • Online Library Catalogue, User Account and PIN number

  • Internet and Broadband access to Offaly County Council website and Government information

  • Books for young and old
