Birr Library was the setting for a wonderful afternoon of storytelling on July 4th. Carol Drinkwater captivated her audience with tales of romance, heartache and the search to find the source of the original Olive tree.
She told us how her books began as a result of buying an abandoned olive farm in Provence over 20 years ago. She spoke of her travels in Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Crete, Italy, and Spain - all in search of the oldest living olive tree.
