What do I need to renew the tax on my car (Private Vehicle)?

To renew your motor tax you will need the following: If there is no change in the details of the vehicle and its owner, you will need the RF100B – computerised reminder posted to the registered owner of the vehicle from the Vehicle Registration Unit in Shannon. If your reminder has a PIN number printed on it you can tax your vehicle online via www.motortax.ie  If you don’t receive a printed reminder in the post or if there is a gap between the last tax disc and the current application you must complete an RF100A form which is available on our website, from local libraries, Garda Stations or at our office. Current Vehicle Insurance Details, i.e. name of insurer, policy number and date of expiry. Payment of the appropriate fee – See rates of duty.  Payment may be by cheque made payable to Offaly County Council. You may also pay by cash, credit card, debit card or postal order.
