I have just bought a new car registered this year - How do I tax it?

I have bought a brand new vehicle.
When you are applying for first motor tax, you must present the following documents to your local Motor Taxation Office.
- Form RF100 which you should get from the Garage/Dealer from whom you have bought the vehicle
- The correct fee.
- If your vehicle is a Commercial Vehicle with an Design Gross Vehicle Weight of 3,500kg or less you must also bring a completed Goods Only Declaration form.
- For vehicles with an Design Gross Vehicle Weight of more than 3,501kg a weight docket from an approved weigh bridge must be presented.
I have imported a vehicle
When you are applying for first motor tax and your vehicle is imported, you must present the following documents to your local Motor Taxation Office·
- Form RF100 which you should get from the Garage/Dealer from whom you have bought the vehicle or from Customs if you have registered the vehicle yourself.
- The correct fee.
- Where you have imported a Commercial Vehicle you will also need to bring:
a completed Goods Only Declaration form if the Design Gross Vehicle Weight is equal to or under 3500kg
Weight Docket (for all weights of commercial vehicles)
Pass Statement/Certificate of Roadworthiness
All goods vehicles to be tested when one year or older
There is an additional fee for Certificate of Roadworthiness :
