Summer Music Jam

Summer Jam

For the next few weeks, Music Generation Offaly Westmeath, in partnership with the Mullingar School Completion Programme and Midlands Regional Youth Service will be working towards a Summer Showcase Concert.

The Summer Music Jam is a summer long programme designed to give students an opportunity to try out and learn a little something about playing drums, guitar and bass guitar. The twice weekly sessions are being held throughout July in the Mullingar EYE for primary and post-primary students, many of whom have never played an instrument before. Assisted by their 3 tutors, Frank, Justin and Maedhbh the sessions, are 'jam - packed' with music making and already preparations are underway for their contribution to the Showcase Concert.

The Showcase Concert will give the summer camp participants their first taste of performing and we are delighted that this will happen alongside local bands who have agreed to lend their support to this fundraiser.

The Summer Music Jam sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday in Mullingar EYE 1pm - 2.45pm primary aged students; 3pm - 5pm post - primary.

The Showcase Concert and Family Day will be on Saturday 26th July, Mullingar EYE 2 - 6pm.
