    The Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2017 has recently been launched by Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Heather Humphreys TD and Minister of State for Regional Economic Development, Michael Ring, TD.   • STRUCTURES AT RISK FUND 2017

    The Department of Arts Heritage Regional Rural and the Gaeltacht Affairs (DAHRRGA) has announced the Structures at Risk Fund for 2017 with a total (countrywide) fund available of €824,000. The purpose of the SRF is to assist with works to safeguard structures included in the Record of Protected Structures and structures which contribute to the character of Architectural Conservation Areas. Only structures or parts of structures in immediate danger of significant deterioration will qualify for consideration for funding by DAHRRGA. The DAHRRGA will consider 2 applications from Offaly County Council, only 1 of which can be a publicly-owned building, plus an additional one application if it relates to an Irish Historic House in private ownership.   • BUILT HERITAGE INVESTMENT SCHEME 2017

    Offaly County Council wishes to invite applications under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) for 2017, as operated by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. This scheme seeks to encourage the leveraging of private capital to invest in a number of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve Protected Structures and Proposed Protected Structures and in certain cases, for the conservation of structures within Architectural Conservation Areas, and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftworkers and tradespeople. The scheme will be administered by Offaly County Council from a total fixed allocation of €50,000 for County Offaly. Grants of between €2,500 and €10,000 will be awarded, with applicants required to provide a minimum of 50% of total costs. Applicants should read the guidelines and be familiar with the qualifying criteria and conditions of the scheme and must include photographs of the proposed works in their application.
