  • Draft Register of Electors 2016-2017

    Offaly County Council is currently preparing the Draft Register of Electors for 2016 / 2017.  This Register of Electors will come into effect as the Live Register of Electors on 15th February, 2016.  Any person who: will be 18 years of age on or before 15th February 2016; has recently changed address; is seeking a Postal Vote or Special Vote; or who wishes to ensure that their registration details are entered accurately on the 2016 / 2017 Register of Electors, should email registerofelectors@offalycoco.ie or contact the Franchise Section, Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, telephone 057 9357402 before 25th November 2015.

  • Launch of Rebuilding Ireland - Action Plan for Housing and Homelessness

    Mr. Simon Coveney T.D., Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government, today (19 July) published “Rebuilding Ireland – an Action Plan for Housing and Homelessness”, following Government approval of the comprehensive and ambitious Plan at today’s Cabinet meeting.  He was joined by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny and Minister for Public Expenditure & Reform, Paschal Donohoe.

  • Local Property Tax LPT 2017

    The Finance (Local Property Tax) Act 2012 (as amended), makes specific provision that elected members of a Local Authority may pass a formal resolution to vary the basic rate of the Local Property Tax for their administrative area by a percentage known as the local adjustment factor. At the meeting set by Offaly County Council to consider this matter, the members may set a local adjustment factor within the range of +/- 15% of the basic rate, or, may decide not to adjust the basic rate. Offaly County Council will meet on 19th September 2016 to consider the setting of a local adjustment factor for 2017.
