New website for Tullamore –www.tullamore.ie– work, live or invest!

Tullamore has worked hard over the years to sustain itself as a business and employment hub. In extremely difficult times the town has continued to be proactive.  Tullamore is competing regionally, nationally and internationally, as part of the Midlands Gateway, for attention by potential investors. This new website was developed to give Tullamore a strong, positive, on-line presence amongst the array of investment locations around the world. Tullamore has world class infrastructure, creative individuals and a history of being business-friendly. This new website aims to promote the strengths and opportunities that exist in Tullamore and illustrate the ease of doing business in Offaly’s county town.

Tullamore.ie being launched today has great potential to develop further. This is a starting block for an interactive site that can be utilised by our community, but also for our community. Tullamore is extremely cognizant of the research and infrastructure analysis that is considered prior to selecting a location for doing business. Whether emerging new businesses or multi-nationals looking for a European base, site location factors are complicated and many, i.e. transportation links, infrastructure, communications technology, access to an educated workforce, growing population etc. Decisions are not taken lightly and agencies like the Enterprise Board, IDA and Enterprise Ireland work with the local authorities to attract new investment in a sustainable manner.

The internet is one of the first tools used by potential investors to research locations and examine infrastructure, lifestyle, geography, and demographics. Tullamore is competing regionally, nationally and internationally for attention by potential investors. This new website was developed to give Tullamore an extremely strong on-line presence amongst the plethora of cities and regions in the world. Tullamore has world class infrastructure, creative individuals and a history of being business friendly. This new website aims to promote the strengths and opportunities that exist in Tullamore and illustrate the ease of doing business in Offaly’s county town.

www.tullamore.ie is a local initiative supported by Offaly Local Authorities, Atlantic Corridor and Tullamore Chamber of Commerce. Speaking at the official launch of the website Cathaoirleach of Tullamore Town Council Sinead Dooley said ‘I would like to thank all the partners involved in this unique initiative. The internet is such a powerful marketing tool; I am delighted Tullamore will have such a strong presence globally. Tullamore has always competed strongly in attracting and supporting new business, and we pride ourselves on having an extremely good business environment complimented with a family friendly atmosphere. All these factors make Tullamore the ideal location to bring your business and family’.

On behalf of the partners involved Joe O’Brien, President of the Tullamore Chamber of Commerce ‘encouraged individuals and businesses to promote and utilise the website by placing a link on their sites. He also encouraged them to promote the site on any published literature. We all have a responsibility to promote Tullamore and this is an extremely easy means of doing so”.

Pat Gallagher, County Manager, Offaly Local Authorities welcomed the site and said ‘we need to exhaust all avenues open to us to market our assets. The County town of Tullamore has long been a key economic resource boasting high levels of internal entrepreneurship but also providing infrastructure to accommodate foreign investment. www.tullamore.ie will be an excellent addition to supporting agencies like the IDA and the County Enterprise Board in attracting new businesses’.

Brian Garvan, Executive Director, Atlantic Corridor said prior to the launch that ‘Tullamore has an extremely strong brand globally. This has been assisted in recent years through international partnerships and links, many of which were facilitated by Atlantic Corridor. This new website will be invaluable in connecting Tullamore to the new opportunities. There are now just over 2 billion internet users in the world today, 175 million people on twitter and 600 million on facebook. It is important that Tullamore connects to this growing and important on-line community.”

www.tullamore.ie was officially launched today, 14th of July by Cathaoirleach Tullamore Town Council Sinead Dooley.
