The four electoral Areas in County Offaly are Birr, Edenderry, Ferbane, and Tullamore.

Offaly has twenty one Councillors, who are elected from each of the four local electoral areas as follows:

Birr electoral area - 4 members
Edenderry electoral area - 6 members
Ferbane electoral area - 4 members
Tullamore electoral area - 7 members

At the Annual Meeting held on Monday June 18th 2012 the following appointments were filled:

Cathaoirleach : Cllr. Peter Ormond
Leas Cathaoirleach :Cllr. Liam Quinn

Housing Policy, Social & Cultural Services 
Environmental Policy 
Transportation & Infrastructural Policy

Offaly also has councillors in Tullamore Town CouncilBirr Town Council and Edenderry Town Council.
