Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 20(3) of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, and Article 14l (2) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, as amended, that on the 30th June 2025, Laois County Council, and on the 16th June 2025, Offaly County Council, being the Planning Authorities for Portarlington made the Portarlington Joint Local Area Plan 2025-2031.
In accordance with Section 20(4A) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, the Joint Local Area Plan shall be effective from the 28th July 2025 within the functional area of the Offaly County Council and 11th of August 2025 within the functional area of Laois County Council.
A Strategic Environmental Assessment Statement will be available alongside the Joint Local Area Plan in accordance with Article 14l (1) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 as amended.
A copy of the Joint Local Area Plan and accompanying strategies including the Strategic Environmental Assessment Environmental Report, Statement Appropriate Assessment Natura Impact Report and Conclusion Statement, and Strategic Flood Risk Assessment are kept and available for inspection at the following places during normal opening hours:

- Planning Section, Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, Co. Offaly
