Book of Condolence for Liam Kearns RIP

Cathaoirleach Cllr Frank Moran and the Elected Members of Offaly County Council have opened an online Book of Condolence to allow the people of Offaly to extend their heartfelt sympathies to the Kearns family, their friends, Offaly GAA and the wider GAA community on the untimely passing of Offaly Senior Football Manager, Liam Kearns, RIP.

Renewed appeal for Offaly properties to house Ukrainian people as 28 Offaly homes offered...

Offaly County Council is appealing to those who have unoccupied properties to offer them as temporary homes for those fleeing war in Ukraine. The renewed call is part of a government initiative, led by local authorities, to make use of unoccupied houses, apartments or holiday homes to house Ukrainian people and families. A tax-free recognition payment of €800 per month is available for properties used to house those arriving from Ukraine.

Offaly to benefit from European Commission ‘START’ supports towards a Just Transition

An application by Offaly County Council for Technical Assistance towards a Just Transition for Peat Regions has been successful. The European Commission programme called START will support project identification and development, communications and stakeholder engagement, and will build capacity and partnerships for delivering a just transition. The Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council, Cllr. Frank Moran welcomed the announcement and the thematic areas to be addressed including employment creation, skills development, green energy, cooperative enterprise development, and energy communities.

Following on from very successful county finals, 7 Offaly primary schools progressed to the National VEX Robotics finals held in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork: St Mary's National School Pullough St. Brendan's Boys Primary School Birr Cappagh National School Scoil Eoin Phóil Tullamore High Street National School Tubber National School Scoil Shinchill - Killeigh National School 24 teams took part in the national finals and Offaly schools walked away with numerous awards.

Offaly Public Participation Network calls for more community groups to have their say

Offaly Public Participation Network (PPN) has issued an invitation to community and voluntary groups in Offaly to join their local PPN and help build a better future for the county. The call-out comes as a new national brand identity and awareness campaign for Public Participation Networks was recently launched by Minister for Community Development and Charities, Joe O’Brien.

Contract Signed for 38 Social Housing Units, Raheen, Clara

Today Offaly County Council awarded a contract for constructing 38 Houses at Raheen, Clara to Bretland. Speaking at the signing, Cathaoirleach Cllr Frank Moran paid tribute to the Housing Department of Offaly County Council for their work and dedication in getting the project to the contract award stage and was very much looking forward to the delivery of these units.

Esker Arts - Expressions of Interest for Coffee Shop and Bar

Esker Arts CLG is currently seeking expressions of interest for the operation of a coffee shop and bar in the venue. The Contract will be for a period of 1 year from April 2023 to March 2024.
