The Government has agreed that Level 5 (with some amendments) as set out in the Plan for Living with COVID-19 will continue to apply nationally until further notice. The Government has clearly stated that there is a continued need to minimise the level of mobility and congregation of people in order to reduce all opportunities for transmission of the virus.

Consequently, and in line with current public health guidance, the Offices of Offaly County Council are closed for walk-in services to support this reduced mobility policy.

Public access cannot be facilitated during LEVEL 5 restrictions. Therefore, Offaly County Council services will be available by telephone, email, online post and only where absolutely necessary and in exceptional circumstances by appointment. Please read latest information.

Cómhrá Am Lóin i rith Seachtain Na Gaeilge

Tá Comhairle Chontae Uíbh Fháilí áthasach ‘Cómhrá Am Lóin’ le Cathaoirleach, Clr John Carroll, a fhógair, sraith chómhráite ag am lóin as Gaeilge mar pháirt de chlár Leabharlainne Uíbh Fháilí ar líne do Sheachtain na Gaeilge.

Deir Príomhfheidhmeannach Chomhairle Contae Uíbh Fháilí, Anna-Marie Delaney, “Cuirim fáilte roimh an imeacht iontach seo i gclár bríomhar Leabharlann Uíbh Fháilí do Sheachtain na Gaeilge, mar tugann na cómhráite seo deis dúinn an Ghaeilge a chothú agus a thacú”.

Beidh na cómhráite seo ag tarlú gach lá ag 1.00 i.n. ó Dé Luain, 8 Márta go dtí Dé hAoine, 12 Márta, agus pléifear ábhair éagsúla, ó chuimhní ar bhua stairiúil Uíbh Fháilí i gCraobh Iomána na hÉireann i 1981 go Gaeilge sa chóras Oideachais agus Gaeilge mar theanga bheo. Beidh ré na chómhráite 30-40 nóiméid gach lá, agus tá ticéidí le fáil ar Eventbrite.

Offaly County Council is delighted to announce, as part of Offaly Libraries’ Seachtain na Gaeilge programme of online events, Cómhrá Am Lóin le Cathaoirleach, Cllr. John Carroll, a series of lunch-time conversations as Gaeilge.

Offaly County Council Chief Executive, Anna-Marie Delaney, says “I welcome this wonderful addition to Offaly Libraries’ vibrant programme for Seachtain na Gaeilge, as these talks present an opportunity to foster and support the Irish language”.

These online conversations will take place every day at 1pm from Monday, 8th March to Friday, 12th March, and will cover a variety of topics from memories of Offaly’s historic All-Ireland hurling win in 1981 to Irish in the education system and Irish as a living language. The events will last 30-40 minutes each day, and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
