Contract Signed for 38 Social Housing Units, Raheen, Clara

Today Offaly County Council awarded a contract for constructing 38 Houses at Raheen, Clara to Bretland.

Speaking at the signing, Cathaoirleach Cllr Frank Moran paid tribute to the Housing Department of Offaly County Council for their work and dedication in getting the project to the contract award stage and was very much looking forward to the delivery of these units.

The proposed scheme consists of 38 no. dwellings arranged back-to-back to take the best advantage of the site and landscape – all residences will overlook open space, ensuring a high-quality, safe development. The site frontage proposal will address the adjoining roads and be sympathetic to the semi-rural nature of the site.

A mix of dwelling sizes and types will ensure a vibrant community, and this variety of dwelling types in a landscaped setting will provide a sense of place and a cohesive, contemporary, well-balanced scheme integrated into its surroundings; the modern palette of materials will reflect this and ensure a simple, uncomplicated functional scheme.

The finishes will be high quality with contemporary detailing, and the houses will be A2 energy rated.
