Funding of over €3.4m announced for Offaly under the Active Travel Scheme Press Release Monday 29th March

The National Transport Authority has today (Monday 29^th March) announced details of the projects that have been approved funding under the Active Travel Scheme.    A total of €3,439,000 was secured for County Offaly.

 The funding will facilitate 13 Projects in Offaly listed hereunder.

Cathaoirleach, Cllr John Carroll welcomed this funding which will go towards developing quality walking and cycling facilities, footpath extensions and mobility plans.

“This funding will further improve pedestrian and cycling facilities in our Towns and Villages, make them safer and more attractive places to be as well as making a significant contribution to Climate Action. It will provide future mobility plans in our main towns which will greatly assist future planning for more people centered Towns.”
