The Government has agreed that Level 5 as set out in the Plan for Living with COVID-19 will apply nationally until April 5th 2021. The Government has clearly stated that there is an absolute need to minimise the level of mobility and congregation of people in order to reduce all opportunities for transmission of the virus.

Consequently, and in line with current public health guidance, the Offices of Offaly County Council are closed for walk-in services to support this reduced mobility policy.

Public access cannot be facilitated during LEVEL 5 restrictions. Therefore, Offaly County Council services will be available by telephone, email, online post and only where absolutely necessary and in exceptional circumstances by appointment. Please read latest information.

Notice to the public regarding use of Bottlebanks

Offaly County Council is experiencing an unexpected increase in bottlebank usage, resulting in many bottles/cans being left on the ground at the bottlebanks. Leaving bottles/cans on the ground is a litter offence and will only cause others to add to it. If the banks are full, please bring your material home with you or to another bottlebank site, details of which are on our website (www.offaly.ie.) and contact the Council on 1800 242 673 to request servicing. Please ensure that you do not leave any bottles/cans on the ground at the bottlebanks sites. Please be mindful that in the current situation with Covid-19, that if bottles/cans have to be collected manually, this may increase the risk of transfer of the disease.

Thank you for your co-operation.
