Offaly County Councils signs urban design team contracts with Urban Agency Architects Ltd

Offaly County Council is pleased to announce the signing of urban design team contracts with Urban Agency Architects Ltd to prepare a Town Centre First Plan for Clara.  

On 18^th November, 2021 under Phase I of the scheme, Clara was selected by Minister Heather Humphreys from Offaly County Council’s nominated towns for the Town Centre First Plan. 

It is envisaged that Clara’s Town Centre First Plan can reimagine the potential of the town and focus in particular on its centre and immediate surroundings.  The plan will identify specific interventions including tackling dereliction and vacancy, de-carbonisation, maintaining a strong local economy, creating high value job opportunities and promoting compact growth.

 Clara Town Team has been established and will support the development of the plan as it progresses through the various stages.  It is estimated that the Town Centre First Plan will be complete by April 2023. Further updates will issue as this project progresses.
