Info: Birr artist, Shannon Bergin is an illustrator and animator, recently graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design. Her work is created using both traditional and digital techniques to create images that examine the role of fiction and its ability to shape our perception of reality. This body of work consists of a series of watercolour and ink illustrations from her first picture book “How to Grow a Girl”.

Flights of Fancy by Rachel McKenna

The Atrium – Aras an Chontae, Tullamore

Info: Based on the publication Flights of Fancy: Follies, Families and Demesnes in Offaly by Rachel McKenna (Architect, Offaly County Council). The book looks at the remarkable range of follies withing the county including towers, eye catchers and gazebos. The Exhibition provides an A1 Board for each of the 15 chapters of the book, affording a flavour of the chapter with key images of the demesne, folly and families involved.

Summer Musical Camp with Sonya Cuddy

Mosaic One Day Workshop

Sat 31 Aug @ 10am- 4.30pm

Birr Theatre & Arts Centre

Info: Aidan Byrne’s one day mosaic workshops are designed to suit complete beginners and people with previous experience in mosaic and other crafts. Over the course of the day participants will go through all the processes involved in making a mosaic from start to finish. Each participant makes their own personalized mosaic and brings it home at the end of the workshop. Aidan’s workshops are very professionally run whilst being light-hearted, the atmosphere is friendly and easy-going. People have travelled from up to 3 hours away to attend workshops and left delighted with their mosaic and the experience.Cost €95 includes all materials and equipment. (capacity 15)
