Culture Night Offaly 2020

There will be a range of free online and offline events that everyone can enjoy. Alternatively we will be sharing all events to our Culture Night Offaly Facebook page so do like the page and go there on Friday 18 September from 3pm onwards.

Mega Play Along

with Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath

Our aim is to get as many people as we can, playing and singing together online and we’d love you to take part!

Our mega play and sing along will have 2 sessions – First join us for a Facebook Live event at 3pm on Friday 18th September, with tips and tools on how to play/sing your part from our musician team, and then on Sunday 27th September we will all meet on zoom for the biggest play and sing along event.

So...whether you play the spoons or the sousaphone keep an eye on the Music Generation Offaly Westmeath Facebook page for all the details on how to get involved. All ages welcome.

Join a host of Offaly artists as they bring song, dance, spoken word and visual arts into your home. Our artists are amazing and our venues beautiful. See the array of talent that is right on our Offaly doorstep. We have original songs from Mundy, Tolu Makay, Hubert Murray and Sean Ryan, dance from Ciara Callanan Ryan and Amy Donlon's dance troupe, classical music by violinist Aoise O'Dwyer and organists Sadie Mitchell. Spoken word from Tullamore Rhymer Richard Brennan and prose from our wonderful actor Darragh O'Toole. They are joined by some well known artists, Michael Bulfin, Hazel Greene, Rosemarie Langtry, Eileen Casey and Joch Nichol. All featured in the beautiful venues of Birr Theatre and Arts Centre, Charleville Castle, Leap Castle, Lough Boora Discovery Park, St Brendan's House Birr, St Mary's Church Edenderry, St Catherines Church Tullamore, Tullamore DEW Visitors Centre and Tullamore Library.

A Self - Guided Exhibition through Edenderry Town

Creative Edenderry, a cultural empowerment initiative involving the Edenderry community, Offaly County Council Arts Office and Voluntary Arts Ireland, present a series of images and stories in various locations and shop windows. Experience the nostalgia of a community of workers past and present who worked and lived in Edenderry. Experience each display at your own pace, drawing together the old and the new, embracing diversity and “walking in time”. Family Friendly and Wheelchair Accessible
