Flights of Fancy by Rachel McKenna

The Atrium – Aras an Chontae, Tullamore

Info: Based on the publication Flights of Fancy: Follies, Families and Demesnes in Offaly by Rachel McKenna (Architect, Offaly County Council). The book looks at the remarkable range of follies withing the county including towers, eye catchers and gazebos. The Exhibition provides an A1 Board for each of the 15 chapters of the book, affording a flavour of the chapter with key images of the demesne, folly and families involved.

Info: Celebrating their Irish Association of Barbershop Singers, Gold Medal win in 2018, Lady Barbalade are partnering with world-famous quartet The Newfangled Four to bring their exciting of brand of singing around the country this September. Featuring Irish Champion chorus, Tone Cold Sober, and the award winning Athlone A Cappella and is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

Magic In My Eyes – Thomas Hardy’s Poems of Love & Loss

This exciting collaboration with the Delmaine String Quartet explores one of the great romances in literary history - Thomas Hardy's courtship of Emma Gifford and their subsequent long and difficult marriage. When Emma died in 1912, after many years of estrangement, Hardy was inspired to write some of the greatest love poetry in the English language and to revisit the landscape of his first great passion.Cost: €15/12

It’s the tale of a dancer who did not want to dance.
