The Government has agreed that Level 5 as set out in the Plan for Living with COVID-19 will apply nationally until April 5th 2021. The Government has clearly stated that there is an absolute need to minimise the level of mobility and congregation of people in order to reduce all opportunities for transmission of the virus.

Consequently, and in line with current public health guidance, the Offices of Offaly County Council are closed for walk-in services to support this reduced mobility policy.

Public access cannot be facilitated during LEVEL 5 restrictions. Therefore, Offaly County Council services will be available by telephone, email, online post and only where absolutely necessary and in exceptional circumstances by appointment. Please read latest information.

2nd Covid-19 Emergency Fund

Offaly Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) invite applications for funding under the 2nd Covid-19 Emergency Fund 2020.

The 2nd COVID-19 Emergency Fund is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development. Offaly has been allocated €48,694 which will be managed through Offaly LCDC and administered by the Community and Culture Section of Offaly County Council.

Strand 1 – Small Scale Measures: will be available to fund small capital projects with a minimum grant of €500 and a maximum grant of €1,000.

Strand 2 – Medium Scale Measures: will be available to fund medium scale capital projects with a minimum grant of €1,001 and a maximum grant of €10,000.

The 2nd Covid 19 Emergency Fund offers funding to community groups to assist to:

1)      adapt their services and operations to fit the new COVID-19 reality.  Examples of measures supported could be adapting premises to allow for social distancing; offering on-line activities; providing social supports and friendly calls by phone etc.

2)      become more involved in the Government’s ‘Keep Well’ Campaign   The grants are aimed at assisting participation in the campaign, in particular with the three themes: staying connected, switching off and being creative, and minding your mood.  For information please visit: https://www.sportireland.ie/keepwell and https://www.offaly.ie/eng/Services/Community-Culture/Healthy-Ireland/News/Keep-Well-campaign-launch.html 

3)      The grants may also be provided to support groups (including those involved in the Community Call) with day to day running costs if needed.
