The Department of Rural and Community Development has approved €25,779.48 in funding for Offaly under the scheme.

Only social enterprises, as defined in the national social enterprise policy, may apply under this scheme. All applicants will be checked and verified to ensure they meet the definition. Applicants who do not meet the definition will not be considered.

Please see the following link for a press release on the launch of the Social Enterprise Capital Grants Scheme at national level by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD:

Capital costs incurred by social enterprises for the purchase of equipment or the carrying out of repairs or refurbishments of existing facilities can be funded. The Scheme does not provide funding for operating or administrative costs.

Expenditure incurred before the date of grant approval will not be eligible.

The scheme supports one of the key commitments in the National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland 2019-2022 – “Growing and Strengthening Social Enterprise”.
