Dog Pound

Offaly Dog Shelter is always looking for suitable homes for stray or unwanted dogs. Please contact the Dog Pound on (057) 9351181 for information on dogs currently seeking a home.

The Dog Pound is open to the public from 10.00 - 12.30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday strictly by appointment only.  (Closed on Wednesday and Sunday).

The Dog Warden may pick up dogs that are in a public place and are not accompanied by their owner or a responsible person.Dogs that are not under proper control may also be seized by the dog warden and the Gardaí and brought to the dog shelter.

If your dog has strayed or is missing, you should contact the dog pound directly to check whether your dog has been picked up.

Before you pick up your dog, you will have to pay a reclaim fee and produce a current dog licence. If you do not have a current dog licence, you must obtain one from your local post office or on before collecting your dog.
