Green Schools Calendar Competition 2019

Calender Competition

Offaly County Council is running a competition for primary schools who are involved in the Green Schools Programme. The aim is to design a calendar for 2020 with each month having its own environmental theme with an illustration designed by pupils. The competition is open to classes from third to sixth and one winning poster, decided by the school, can be submitted for each of these classes, therefore a maximum of 4 posters can be submitted per school. The posters will enter the final draw for the 12 winning posters.

The theme must be related to environmental issues, for example:

  • Litter – e.g. chewing gum, dog fouling, cigarette butts, illegal dumping;
  • Recycling
  • Bring banks
  • Composting
  • Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
  • Water
  • Energy
  • Travel
  • Nature and Biodiversity

Please note the following:

  • All posters submitted must be A4 LANDSCAPE. Any other format cannot be considered
  • Any media is permissible, i.e. crayons, markers, colouring pencils, paint
  • Computer generated images are not permitted
  • Please ensure thepupil’s name, age, class and  school are included with the poster

Entrie should be submittiong via post to: Environment & Water Services, Aras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

It should be noted that posters will unfortunately not be returned to the schools.

The closing date for submissions is Friday 18th October 2019.
