The Government has agreed that Level 5 (with some amendments) as set out in the Plan for Living with COVID-19 will continue to apply nationally until further notice. The Government has clearly stated that there is a continued need to minimise the level of mobility and congregation of people in order to reduce all opportunities for transmission of the virus.

Please note that our library buildings have reopened to the public for Browsing Services and Contact & Collect since Monday, May 10th. Please see Library Page.

Consequently, and in line with current public health guidance, the Offices of Offaly County Council are closed for walk-in services to support this reduced mobility policy.

Public access cannot be facilitated during LEVEL 5 restrictions. Therefore, Offaly County Council services will be available by telephone, email, online post and only where absolutely necessary and in exceptional circumstances by appointment. Please read latest information.

    The Local Government Operational Procurement Centre (LGOPC) has published a Framework for Public Service Bodies to procure Commercial Minor Building Works. The LGOPC will carry out a competition to appoint Contractors to the Framework. Public Service Bodies will then run competitions with the Contractors in their area to procure MINOR BUILDING WORKS.   • National Revaluation Programme Update

    On March 3rd 2017, the Valuation Office issued proposed Valuation Certificates to all ratepayers in the Offaly Local Authority area. The Valuation Office engaged with ratepayers in a consultative phase involving, walk-in clinics and a representational process, which closed on April 11th 2017. The new valuations have been formally published on 15th of September 2017 and come into effect for rating purposes from 1st January 2018.

  • Annual Financial Statement 2017

    The Annual Financial Statement commences with a certificate by the Chief Executive and Head of Finance certifying that the information contained therein is in agreement with the books of account and is in accordance with the accounting requirements as directed by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. The statement also contains details of the Council's accounting policies.
