Natures Poses - Art Exhibition

Tuesday 7th May to Friday 31st May

Work by a local artist, social care worker and post graduate of Arts. She feels Art is a universal language that helps to break down barriers. In aid of local causes. Art will be auctioned by offers to raise funds. The art range in medium from acrylic paintings to mixed media and photography art. All works are original landscape colours of local towns and attractions. All offers for support are welcome and hope to provide some small relief.

The Rhyming Biz – Poetry Quiz

Thursday 2nd May

Poetry Day Ireland event. This is a table quiz for 5th or 6th class school groups. The participating class is divided into teams which then compete to answer poetry/rhyme-related questions and solve rhyme-related brainteasers to earn the title of “The Rhyming Biz – Poetry Whiz”.  There will also be a prize for the winning team. The aim of this light-hearted quiz is for pupils to have a fun, quirky look at poetry and exercise their knowledge but also learn something new. To book a class, schools should contact Birr Library. Booking is essential as places are very limited.
