Hazel Greene - Tullamore Library


Hazel has studied painting under Una Sealy, Mick O’Dea, and Joe Dunne. She has shown work in exhibitions curated by Peter Prendergast, Claudia Woolgarand, Martina Finn, Cabrini Lynch.


Her work has been purchased by the State and Heritage Groups, commissioned by the National Stud and Japanese Gardens, County Kildare; Nazareth House, County Sligo; and Newgrange Lodge, CountyMeath, and presented to President Michael D. Higgins, President Mary McAleese and the Australian ambassador, and she was visual arts co-ordinator of Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival from 2010 to 2014. Greene has taught painting within the community and from her own studio, since 2005, and produced a range of silk scarves for the home and export market since 1995.

In 2015 she was ‘Accessory Designer of the Year’ with the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards and a finalist in 2014 and 2016; she is a member of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers.

Hazel Greene trained in the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art and Design (1994-98) and studied textile design in West Dean College, England (2014)
