Paul Moore Photography Exhibition at Birr Library

Paul Moore is a professional photographer based in Tullamore, Co Offaly. He discovered his love of photography through taking photos with his mobile phone and over the last few years his photos have been featured in exhibitions all over the world. They have also been used on book covers including New York Times Bestsellers. This gave him the incentive to take his hobby more seriously. Approximately 3 years ago Paul got his first DSLR camera and turned his attention towards more professional photographic work. Over those 3 years he has been hard at work studying different techniques and styles in order to add to his portfolio of work and improve himself as a photographer. As a result, he recently decided to leave a 30 year career in finance to pursue his dream of being a professional photographer. A move which was vindicated when he was recently approved as a member of the Irish Professional Photographers and Videographers Association.

In his new career Paul has worked on a wide variety of projects including weddings, commercial shoots, event photography and specially commissioned work for various clients. He gives regular workshops for Dublin Photography School, Facebook and many other groups. These include mobile phone workshops. Paul plans on giving workshops on other aspects of photography in the future.

When taking photos for himself his favourite subjects are landscapes and images that convey a sense of a narrative or storytelling. He also likes to use his photos to showcase his local area and attempt to attract tourists to the Midlands. The images in this exhibition are prime examples of some of the photos he uses for this purpose.
