Free Digital Skills Classes on How to Get Online

March 13th, 20th, 27th and April 3rd. Class times: 10.30am – 1.00pm or 2.00pm – 4.30pm

Classes delivered by Digitise The Nation.Booking Essential. Each person attending these classes will receive 10 hours of free classroom training (class duration will be 2.5 hours per class). Class size is 10 people. An iPad will be provided for use during each class or, if you prefer, you can bring your own device i.e. smartphone, tablet or laptop. Course outline: Session One: Introduction to the Internet: Understanding the Internet; Getting Online; Using Search Engines; Staying Safe Online.  Session Two: Introduction to E-mail and Online Services: Introduction to e-mail; Government Services; Conducting Everyday Transactions. Session Three: Video Calling and Apps: Skype and Other Video Calling Services; Introduction to Mobile Apps. Sessions Four:  Choose two of the following: Government Online Services; Video, TV and Radio Online; Shopping Online; Online Banking Basics; Revision of a Topic from a Previous Session.

Mystereads – Children’s Book Promotion

Available to borrow during library opening hours from World Book Day (March 7th) until Friday, March 15th.

Mystereads allows children to borrow a mystery book (wrapped up in brown paper) and perhaps discover a new favourite author! Just call into the library with your library card and borrow the mystery item in the usual way. Mystereads will run up to and including Friday, March 15th
