World Read Aloud Day celebrates the joy and importance of reading aloud to children and adults. Reading aloud to your children helps to build vocabulary, encourage smooth, expressive reading, and reinforces the idea of reading for pleasure. What better day to grab a book, sit down, and read to your children? To celebrate World Read Aloud Day, Offaly Libraries are running the following public events:
