Family Star Gazing at Tullamore Library, Tuesday 21st March from 7pm - 9pm

Understanding and appreciation of the night sky will be the focus of a fantastic Stargazing evening at Tullamore Library on Tuesday, 21st March from 7pm to 9pm.

Seanie Morris of Midlands Astronomy Club will be on hand with his telescope to show us the moon, some of the non-Earth planets of the Solar System and more, weather permitting.

Families in attendance will also be treated to storytelling, art and virtual tours of space with our VR headsets so there will be plenty on offer, no matter the weather!

All ages are welcome to attend this fascinating event.

Booking is essential as spaces are limited: email TullamoreLibrary@offalycoco.ie or 057 9346832 to secure a place.

Schools visiting Tullamore Library and Birr library during the week will also get the opportunity to experience walking out amongst the stars through the eyes of an astronaut. Using VR headsets, they will enjoy a more up-close and personal experience with the Milky Way as they go on a tour through space.

Libraries across the county will also be embracing the space theme, with displays featuring books on celestial topics, storytimes for some of our own little stars, craft events and more! Contact your local library for more information.
