Heritage Week 2018: launch of Countywide Programme

Another wide-ranging and interesting programme of events again takes place this year in Offaly. Heritage Week is a nationwide celebration from 18^th -26^th August. The theme this year is Share a Story: Make a Connection. In keeping with this theme, Offaly County Library, in conjunction with the Creative Ireland culture-based programme, undertook the recording of a DVD documenting stories and memories from the past. This DVD will be shown for the first time at the launch of the countywide programme at Edenderry Library on Wednesday 15^th August at 6.30pm. Copies will be available for sale at libraries in Offaly.

There are a variety of events throughout Offaly including visits by the National Reptile Zoo to libraries, Wild Child day at Birr Castle, Open Air Ceili at Moneygall and the Gooseberry Fair at Cloneygowan to name but a few.
