Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2023 Historic Structures Fund 2023

The Built Heritage Investment Scheme seeks to encourage the leveraging of private capital to invest in a number of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve Protected Structures and in certain cases those within Architectural Conservation Areas. The Historic Structures Fund assists with works to safeguard structures or parts of structures in immediate danger of significant deterioration.

Under Stream 1 the Department will consider only 3 applications per local authority from private owners or community groups and 1 application for a public building.

Under the Historic Shopfronts sub-stream 1 additional application per local authority under Stream 1 can be considered for the conservation or refurbishment of a historic shopfront.

Stream 2 provides a higher amount of funding for large projects. Only 1 application per local authority from private owners or community groups and 1 application for a public building can be put forward.

A Vernacular Structures Stream also exists for conservation repairs to non-protected vernacular buildings. Only 1 application per local authority can be put forward.

Full details of all requirements are contained in the BHIS & HSF Circulars.

All applicants must complete the Application Form and submit it, with supporting documentation in electronic copy to BHIS@offalycoco.ie or HSF@offalycoco.ie by 4pm, Thursday 26th January 2023. ***LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED***.
