The Public Offices listed below will open as follows:

** Edenderry Municipal District Offices (Tuesday-Thursday each week from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm only)

** Birr Municipal District Offices (Tuesday-Thursday each week from 9.30 am to 1pm only)

At Áras an Chontae, Tullamore, counter services for Planning, Roads, the Local Enterprise Office, Community & Culture, Corporate Services, Water Services and Environment will be available by APPOINTMENT MADE IN ADVANCE only.

Part 8:Tullamore New Street Link- High Street to Tanyard and One-way traffic system through O’Connor Square Public Consultation

Pursuant to the requirements of Part 8 of the Local Government (Planning & Development) Regulations 2001(as amended) notice is hereby given that Offaly County Council proposes the following works:

 

High Street to Tanyard new link road &

One Way Traffic System in O’ Connor Square, Tullamore

 

  • Construction of a link road between the existing L-30273-1 Off-High Street, Tullamore and the L-20077-2 at the Tanyard, Tullamore.

 

  • Implementation of a one-way traffic system through O Connor Square

 

  •  Provision of on street parking

 

  • Landscaping works and boundary treatments

 

  • Construction of and remodelling of junctions, footpaths and pedestrian crossings.

 

all associated development works at High St /Tanyard, Tullamore, County Offaly.

 

 

Offaly County Council has prepared an EIA Screening Report in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended). On the basis of this Screening Report, Offaly County Council has completed EIA screening and has determined that there is no likelihood of significant effects on the environment. (Article 120 of Planning and Development Regulations, amended 2018) Accordingly, it has been determined that EIA is not required in respect of this proposed development. Any person may, within 4 weeks beginning on Wednesday 14th July 2021, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

 

The Proposed Development is situated within the curtilage of protected structures reference number (23-217) O’Connor Square End of Terrace Six bay, (23-221) O’Connor Square Freestanding limestone obelisk, (23-259) Sean Joyce Auctioneers End of terrace corner sited single bay two storey shop & (23-398) JA Lumley Former Malt house Warehouse and malting’s build.

 

Plans and particulars of the proposed Scheme are available for inspection and / or purchase during public opening hours at the offices of Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, County Offaly, the offices of Tullamore Municipal District, Acres Hall, Tullamore, County Offaly, for a period of four weeks ending 11thAugust 2021.

 

Submissions or observations in respect of the proposed development dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development is situated, may be made in writing to Mr. Tom Shanahan, Director of Services, Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, County Offaly before 12.00 noon on 25th August 2021.

 

Please note in the event of the offices above remaining closed to the public due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions the plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase by appointment with the Tullamore Municipal District, Acres Hall, Tullamore, County Offaly.
