Offaly County Council Update on the Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business/Local Government June 8th

Offaly County Council has continued to deliver services throughout the current crisis but the following specific services will be in place from next Monday June 8th- Phase 2 of the Government of Ireland Reopening Roadmap

  • Return of horse and dog control
  • Return of environmental enforcement inspections
  • Main libraries (Birr, Clara, Tullamore and Edenderry)  to offer a ‘click and collect’ service by appointment only  {All other Library services continue to be delivered online}. Check out www.offaly.ie/libraries for more details
  • Planning counter services available by appointment (subject to Phase 2 travel restriction measures).  Please contact Tel:0579346800 or email planning@offalycoco.ie to arrange an appointment {Planning queries continue to be answered by phone and email where possible. Planning administration and decisions continue}.
  • Plans to be prepared for the phased return of office workers subject to protocols and procedures in line with public health advice.
  • Public spaces to open where social distancing can be facilitated.
  • While the government announced that playgrounds can reopen from Monday 8th June some Offaly County Council managed playgrounds may open at a later date to ensure that appropriate signage is in place reminding users that all children should be supervised by an adult and must observe public health guidance.
