Water Safety across Offaly: August Bank Holiday Weekend

August Bank Holiday Weekend: Water Safety Press Release:

In the lead up to the August Bank Holiday weekend, Water Safety Ireland have issued a water safety appeal, asking people to take some basic steps to stay safe on the water (especially in relation to Offshore winds and Rip currents) as more people visit waterways nationwide or participate in coastal and inland aquatic activities.

You, your family, or friends may be out enjoying the outdoors in the beautiful Faithful County or visiting other water and coastal locations over the coming holiday weekend. That is great…….but think about your safety when in/around the water.

See the Water Safety advice below and attached.

If you see somebody in trouble on the water or along the coast, or think they are in trouble, use Marine VHF channel 16 or Dial 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
